Ingredients

date filling:
1.5 Cup date pitted
0.5 Teaspoons baking soda
1 Tablespoons maamoul spices
1.75 Cup water

dough:
100 g Afia Butter
1 Tablespoons Afia Pistachio Powder
1.5 Cup flour
1 Cup oats
2.3 Cup brown sugar
0.5 Teaspoons Afia cinamon Powder

garnish:
1 Tablespoons white chocolate melted
2 Tablespoons Afia Pistachio Powder
1 Tablespoons dried rose

How to prepare

  • preheat the oven to 180 c.
  • in a small saucepan bring water to a boil over high heat. Add the date, mamoul spices and boil over high heat
  • in a large bowl whisk the rest of the ingredients, add butter.
  • using your fingertips rub the butter into the flour until you have a pebbly texture with moist pea size lumps.
  • Press half of the flour mixture evenly and firmly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the date mixture evenly over the top.
  • Sprinkle the remaining flour mixture over the date mixture; press gently to help the crumbs adhere.
  • Bake until the top and edges are golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. Transfer the baking dish to a wire rack and cool completely.
  • Cut into bars, drizzle with white chocolate, pistachio powder and rose and serve.
